Privacy
The Unboom app collects no data. Room scans and your Mac’s audio stay on your Mac.
Updated September 15, 2026
Microphone
Unboom uses the microphone only while it scans your room, to hear its own bass sweep. The measurement is processed in memory and is never saved or sent anywhere.
Your Mac’s audio
To correct what your Mac plays, Unboom uses macOS system audio access. Audio is corrected in real time and is never recorded, saved, or sent.
Settings on your Mac
Your rooms, their corrections, and your preferences are stored on your Mac so Unboom can keep working after a restart. Delete Unboom to remove them.
Diagnostics
If you ask for help, Unboom can copy a diagnostics report to your clipboard. It describes app and audio health, without room names, device names, or recordings. Nothing is sent until you paste it into a message yourself.
Purchases
The free trial and the unlock are handled by Apple through the Mac App Store. We don’t receive your payment details.
This website
unboom.app uses Umami, a cookieless analytics service, to count visits and how the free tools are used, such as starting a Boom Finder sweep. It doesn’t use cookies, collect personal information, or follow you across other sites, and it respects Do Not Track.
The free tools play sound in your browser and never use your microphone. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure.
